TLC’s Memorable Debut at the Brisbane Disability Connection Expo 2025

March 23, 2025

We are thrilled to share our incredible experience at the Brisbane Disability Connection Expo 2025, held on March 21st and 22nd at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. This event marked our official introduction to the Queensland community, and we couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome.

Day 1 Highlights

Our team, comprising Mel, Kell, Jake, Vicki, and Brody, embarked on a mission to connect with fellow exhibitors and attendees. We visited each booth, introducing ourselves and learning about the diverse services offered within the disability sector. This initiative fostered a sense of camaraderie and collaboration, aligning with our commitment to building strong relationships within the community.

TLC Teddy’s Debut

A standout feature of our presence was the introduction of our beloved mascot, TLC Teddy. Making his first appearance at the expo, TLC Teddy brought joy to attendees by handing out our signature green teddy bears and branded bags. The sight of visitors carrying our teddies and bags throughout the venue was heartwarming and a testament to the positive impact of our engagement.

Day 2 Highlights

The excitement continued with the unveiling of our new teddy bear designs in orange and navy blue, complementing our classic green. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees expressing delight at the new additions. Our team for the day—Mel, Kell, Jake, Vicki, Callum, Carolyn, and Brody—ensured that everyone who visited our booth felt welcomed and informed about our services.

Managing the Buzz

Despite having a modest single booth, the interest from attendees was immense. We often found ourselves engaged in multiple conversations simultaneously, reflecting the community’s eagerness to learn about our offerings. The high demand for our teddy bears led to frequent restocks from our supplies, underscoring their popularity among visitors.

Mascot Moments

TLC Teddy wasn’t the only mascot spreading cheer at the expo. The event featured other mascots, including one from Disability Connections and a charming giraffe. A highlight was the end-of-day mascot photoshoot and dance-off, where TLC Teddy showcased playful antics—wagging his tail, dancing, and waving to the crowd. Our team members took turns donning the TLC Teddy suit, embracing the warmth (both literal and figurative) to ensure continuous engagement with attendees.

Looking Ahead

Our participation in the Brisbane Disability Connection Expo 2025 was a resounding success. It provided us with invaluable insights and connections as we establish our presence in Queensland. We are excited about the future and remain committed to delivering person-centred and directed support to the community.

Thank you to everyone who visited our booth, shared a smile, and made this event unforgettable. We look forward to building lasting relationships and making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve.
